Ibrahim Zadran's record in Champions Trophy history

Pakistan, the host of the Champions Trophy 2025, has been scoring centuries in a row. So far, except for one Pakistani team, several players have scored centuries for the other seven teams. Two centuries came in yesterday's England-Afghanistan match. Afghanistan created a sensation with its amazing performance in the match against England yesterday as part of the Champions Trophy. In addition to recording a huge score against a strong England team, it made history by winning by 8 runs. In particular, opener Ibrahim Zadran broke records with his excellent batting performance. England batsman Joe Root scored the highest individual score (177) in the history of the Champions Trophy, followed by a century (120) in the chase. With this, 11 centuries have been scored so far this season. With some matches in the knockout stage, as well as the semi-finals and final, this number is likely to increase further. He surpassed the records of legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.

Zadran single-handedly rescued Afghanistan, who were struggling after losing 3 crucial wickets for 37 runs. He showed the England bowlers the ropes and hit sixes and fours. He scored 177 runs in 146 balls with 12 fours and 6 sixes, setting the record for the highest individual score in the Champions Trophy.

Zadran became the highest individual scorer in the Champions Trophy, surpassing Ben Duckett's 165 (against Australia).
