After 125 hours of being trapped, the 8 people have still not been able to get food or water to drink. Their chances of survival are dwindling.
The situation became more complicated by the high humidity and pressure inside the tunnel .
Telangana SLBC Tunnel Rescue Effort:
Rescue operation is underway after 8 people went missing after the Srisailam Left Bank (SLBC) Tunnel partially collapsed. As per the instructions of Border Roads Organization (BRO), the tunnel will be completely drained and de-silting work will be started at the launching point.
Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy's statement:
- He said that the rescue mission is continuing rapidly in the SLBC Tunnel in Domalapenta, Nagarkurnool district.
- He expressed hope that the operation would be completed within two days.
- Alternative routes are being considered to reach the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM ) , which is blocked by mud and debris .
What police officers said:
- He said that the NDRF, SDRF, and RAT Miners teams have reached the last part of the tunnel together.
- Nagarkurnool SP revealed that they are rethinking the route forward due to the large amount of debris.
